Jeannette & Ed( May 2022)

Jeannette & Ed,

Thank you for providing such a wonderful cottage. Your attention to detail is lovely, as was the large hamper and fridge full of goodies. Not to mention all the other extras like robes and slippers! The conservatory is real plus giving plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sea views and surround countryside with the bunnies and sheep, regardless of the weather.

We have already recommended you to family and friends, and very much hope to return at some point in the future. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Lis & Kevin,

Thank you so much for another incredibly relaxing break. Your efforts to make everything so amazing and special are very much appreciated. You make our visits feel like we're visiting old friends.
A beautiful place made perfect by such kind and generous hosts x

Suzanne and Patrick,

Loved our stay, the beautiful Christmas touches made our stay. This is one of the best stay's we have been on. Beautiful scenic views. Will definitely be coming back. Great friendly hosts.

Jas and Rahul,

We weren't sure we were going to make, it pretty mucho the day of our arrival, what with everything 2020 has had to offer !
But, we made it and we are so glad we did.
These few nights away at such an amazing place was exactly what we needed.
'The Old Stable' is lovely, with the conservatory looking out to sea. The lights and the storm added to the atmosphere. The finishing touches such as the little halloween decorations and the amazing welcome basket made it truly special. Thank you for looking after my dietary requirements.

Travis and Gemma Smith,

What a lovely place to spend a relaxing week and get away from all that is going on around us.
Thank you for the splendid welcome basket, and all the other goodies! We have needed for nothing the whole time here. We love the conservatory, so relaxing watching the sheep munch away.
We hope to come back sometime.

Madelaine and Bob,

Thank you Caroline and Paul for such a wonderful place to stay. Such a lovely welcome and goodies too.
Amazing holiday accommodation, everything you need and a stunning view too.
I feel totally recharged !
So much appreciated.

Loulou,

I still say WOW WOW WOW, our second visit to the old stables Caroline and Paul do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable comfortable and amazing. Caroline thinks of just about everything she can think off even going as far as leaving the most beautiful welcome basket, biggest I've ever seen with all you need to start your break and more including wine. I'm glutin free and she had sourced glutin free product's for myself but also normal foods for my husband including her yummy scones. We got our visit from the local wild life Mr fox made me jump sticking his nose on conservatory door and squirrels kept us amused balancing on the fence beside conservatory, loved the sheep and pigs with babies in fields which we love to watch. The views out to sea are beautiful and spent lots of time just watching the sea and sun. So once again thank you Caroline and Paul see you soon again. Sue & Paul 👋👋👋💖

Susan & Paul Gurr,

What can I say but WOW.
We have had an amazing stay, so relaxing and restful. The cottage has everything need and more.
Caroline and Paul, you have thought of everything. Thank you so much.
We hope to see you again in the near future.

Eda and Yekcan,

Thank you to Caroline and Paul for providing a very comfortable holiday let. The welcome pack and extra's went above and beyond our expectations !
We've had a lovely week here, with good weather and enjoyed a much longed for family reunion. we've also made full use of our N.T. membership and explored the area. We'll certainly be back, if only to enjoy the wonderful view from the conservatory.
These past few months have been tough for everyone, so thank you for the chance to refresh our minds and bodies !
Thanks for the fizz and wine.

Liz and Mark ( Malvern Worcs ),

We have really enjoyed our staycation in Sussex - despite having some appalling weather ! 'The Old Stable' has been a lovely base - much better than a suite in an hotel. We felt pampered by our cream tea and a bottle of fizz and lots of food provided. Our first morning we could not venture out due to the torrential rain but in the afternoon, we walked from Firle to Charlston and back, windy but dry. The next day was dry and sunny ( but again windy ), we walked from here to Rodmell then came back via Break Bottom vineyard ( not for a tour ) but would recommend this route through a hidden combe. Today we went to Farley's House and gallery then Mickleham Priory and The Long Man of Wilmington. We have avoided eating out and so have appreciated the well equipped kitchen and even mastered the induction hob ! It has been great taking things at a slower pace with the sheep as neighbours and just occasionally a glimpse of the sea. Thank you Caroline for the welcome and we hope to be back soon.

Ralph and Keith,

This is the first time we have visited Sussex and have been overwhelmed with how beautiful it is. 'The Old Stable' has been the ideal base for us and is such a lovely place to stay. We really appreciated the food that welcomed us on our arrival and found the accommodation very clean and well equipped. We will certainly miss the view.
Thank you so much.

Grant and Fiona,

Thank you for a lovely stay. Such a busy schedule this weekend that we didn't have a great deal of time at the property. So wish we were here longer. Excellent facilities, a warm and friendly welcome and breathtaking views.
Many thanks for our welcome supper and hamper. It really took the pressure off needing to find a supermarket during our stay ( what a bonus ).
Sadly missed seeing the hares, which I would have absolutely loved. Will have to stay in the spring next time.
Anyway, all in all, a definite 10/10 from us.

Sandra and Mark,

We've enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing break away from our home in London ! The views and walks are spectacular and Caroline and Paul are so accommodating and helpful. The welcome basket and little touches are so thoughtful and on my birthday, a card and lovely bottle of Rose` was presented ! 'The Old Stable' is cosy, spotless and very well appointed - home from home !
Thank you again for making our week away so perfect !

Sue and Graham,

How can you imagine a perfect place like yours ? it's more than we could expect.
We were looking for a beautiful view, in the country and close to the city. Here we are !
The creamy star cheese was amazing ! Stephanie x

Pierre and Stephanie. France,

What can we add to the comments already made ? - Very little to be honest.
Loved being here.
Caroline and Paul ,thank you for providing such a lovely venue. xx

Paul and Jackie,

We are Berliners, so German people - and we can't really describe in English words, what we feel in our hearts.
It is like living in a miniature castle and we don"t want to leave it !!
The Old Stable and all the things, from the furniture to the necessary things in the kitchen up to the small things needed and the decorations having lovingly designed down to the smallest details, especially the welcome pack !
We have never had such a wonderful place with such a nice view, for our holidays.
For 6 days, we feel like little V I P's and the view during breakfast on the sunny mornings was good for our souls and relaxation from work.
Many thanks that we may stay here.
Thank you so much for your hospitality.
See you again in 2021.

Sabine and Dirk,

We're back !
This our third stay at The Old Stable and it was as luxurious and relaxing as previous visits.
You can't get enough of the views from the conservatory and the hospitality of the hosts, is why we keep coming returning.
My daughter 'baked' all afternoon, indulging herself once again, non the well stocked kitchen.
THANK YOU - SO - VERY - MUCH.

Julie and Lotte Caddock,

A BIG thank you ! for a lovely stay.
We particularly enjoyed your amazing cottage, very cosy, watching the birds and various wildlife going past.
Also, thank you for the very generous hamper of food, you seem to have thought of everything down to a bottle of possecco, which we opened on our first day as it was Milo's 75th birthday !
Lots of beautiful countryside and the ever changing sea....
We will be back !!! Thank you.

Simon and Lisa,

Self catering ? I think Caroline and Paul should be prosecuted under The Trade Descriptions Act!
You Kindly left us with so much provisions that we didn't need to go to the grocers shop at all during our 4 day stay !
Seriously, many thanks to you both.
We will certainly hope to stay again.
Very best wishes.

Kerry & Chris,

Thanks for a lovely stay.Everything we could possibly need, plus treats, which we very much enjoyed. As my daughter said, 'very generous'.
Very helpful local advise - walk down through the park to the main road, and get the bus to Brighton etc. Much cheaper and easier than driving and parking.
Caroline and Paul are friendly and helpful, making our stay a real holiday without any hitches.

Gavin and Jen Childs,

We consider ourselves very lucky to have been able to visit The Old Stable for a second time and it remains as special a place as our memories.
Whilst there is so much to do, this weekend we simply enjoyed the splendour of ' The Old Stable' ! My daughter loves to bake and the kitchen has every utensil you could imagine.
We watched films, cows, fireworks and the most spectacular skies and sunsets of deep dark red.
We worked our way through the well thought out and quality products of the welcome basket and won't be eating for a week!!
We will be back again and again to enjoy the setting and the generosity and kindness of Caroline and Paul.
Love Lotte and Julie. 02.11.18 - 04.11.18

Lotte and Julie Caddock,

What a wonderful place to stay - we have rented so many holiday cottages over so many years and The Old Stable is definitely up in our top 5!! We have never been so spoiled with so many lovely touches and treats. We have loved the comfort, the view, the ambience, the sun sets - everything.
Its been a wonderful week with many walks - Beachy Head, Bieling Gap, nSeven Sisters Country parkland Cuckmere Valley,N.T. houses - Alfriston clergy house, Monks House born in lovely settings. So many more walks and places to explore so we will have to come back to this amazing place.

Gavin and Jen. July 25th - 1st August 2018

Mr. Gavin Childs,

What can we say about this holiday! If you want to find a slice of heaven, then this is it, The moment you pull up onto the drive, you know you have found the perfect retreat. The view is glorious, you are surrounded by fields with cows and sheep as neighbours, and the view down to the sea is amazing. It is so quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted. The Old Stable itself, is like home from home. Caroline and Paul have gone to great lengths to make our stay here amazing. They have thought of absolutely everything, from the welcome pack, which included a delicious homemade victoria sponge, homemade ice-cream and all the little extras. In short, it was by and far the most beautiful holiday home we have ever stayed in, and we do truly believe, if we had stayed anywhere else, our holiday just wouldn'thave been so special. You could, if you wanted, quite happily stay here for the whole of your stay, but if you want to venture out, you have some amazing walks, Telscombe Tye, Beachy Head, Birling Gap, the Seven Sisters and Cuckmere Haven. We also visited Brighton, Lewes, Rottingdean. Hastings, Battle, Bodium Castle, Seaford, Eastbourne and Saltdean. There are lots of lovely places to eat, the Storehouse in Peacehaven does a carver everyday. We would like to thank Caroline and Paul for their hospitality. You have both gone above and beyond what we would expect. Thank you for letting us stay the extra day. You are an amazing couple, we have throughly enjoyed your company and will really miss you and your beautiful home. We will definitely be back and in the meantime, if you feel like 'adopting' us, we will happily sell up and move down here. All the best for the future.

Gail and Brett 30 th June - 8th July 2018

Miss. Gail Husbands,

This place is amazing ! Absolutely everything we could need was provided, right down to fresh herbs in the kitchen window. Be sure to check every drawer and cupboard before making a supply run as its probably already here. The welcome basket of homemade goodies and local flavours was an extremely thoughtful touch. Its very clear, that a lot of effort and care has been put into making the place cosy and accomodating and we'll be sure to return to enjoy the beautiful setting.
Thanks for such a wonderful stay.

Lesley and Grey. 2nd - 10th August 2018

Lesley Scott,

We had a lovely, relaxing holiday at The Old Stable, made even better by the amazing weather. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. The welcome pack was the best we have ever received. Homemade ice-cream, what more could you ask for!
We enjoyed a beautiful walk from Seaford to the Seven Sisters, with a stop off for lunch at The Cuckmere Arms. The walk over Telscombe Tye to Satdean was also a good one.
sitting in the conservatory has been good because of the fantastic views. On Sunday, an incoming seafret was fascinating to watch.
Thanks to Caroline and Paul for being great hosts.

20 -23rd April 2018

Mrs. Ruth Platts,

We wanted to stay in the South Downs and the position, surrounded by fields with a view of the sea suited us. The welcome pack looked amazing and it was! This beautiful converted stable has been done to the highest standard and is beautifully presented. Not only was the welcome pack amazing, we had a very warm welcome from Paul and Caroline. Homemade scones, strawberries, cream and homemade jam awaited us and there were many little extras that we really appreciated. We found the peace and tranquility very relaxing and rate this cottage one of the best we have ever stayed in.

Mr Carter,
